WELCOME to FlyAwayMay.com!

wan·der·lust

ˈwändərˌləst/
noun
noun: wanderlust
  • a strong desire to travel.
    “a man consumed by wanderlust”

I call Hawaii my gateway drug to wanderlust.

What started as a typical vacation to Oahu sparked… no, detonated my desire to see the world.

Philippine-born and arriving in the US at the wee age of 2, my first plane trip I had complete recollection of was to Hawaii for my high school choir group my senior year. While this occurred in April 2000, it would take almost 13 years before my return to Oahu, and it was on a shuttle to the airport when I made the vow:

I will see the world.

Here, I chronicle my adventures.

Every rock I climb. Every body of water I swim in. Every road I traverse.

Every attraction. Every eatery.  Every stranger-turned-friend.
Every moment.

Here, I hope to ignite a spark within you to fly away and see the world.

The goal of FlyAwayMay.com is to provide helpful hints and tips on booking airfare and activities, which sites to explore, and everything in between. Because I’ve spent countless hours doing research, I hope to impart what knowledge and advice I can to get the gears of imagination grinding and to help you plan for your getaway.
